The U15C3 girl’s team, under the coaching leadership of Jeff Thole, Ryan Peterson, and Jim Valenziano, were triumphant in claiming the title of State Champions.  It took 80 minutes of play and all 5 penalty kicks for the team to secure the win in the State Championship game against Dakota Rev.  The girls came back from a 0-1 deficit at halftime with a goal to send the game into overtime. After no one scored during the two overtime periods, it all came down to the shootout. Two great saves by the goal keeper and 3 successful kicks gave NESA the 3-2 edge in the shootout and the State Championship.  The U15 girls were also the Champions of the Coon Rapids and the Blaine Breakout tournaments as well.  The State Championship was the icing on their 7-1-2 season cake as league champions and has catapulted them into the C2 division for the 2013 season.  Not only do these girls work well as a team on the soccer field but they also found time to work as a team doing community service by packing meals for Feed My Starving Children.  Check out their team page to see pictures of their fantastic season.  Congratulations on a great year girls!!!
